Brand DNA's agent runs on Gemini 3.1 Pro with multi-step tool use (up to 15 agentic steps per turn), and its tools call into other models where they fit better, like article generation on your brand's configured writer model.

Special-purpose models under the hood

Smaller task-tuned models handle the glue work: entity extraction for SEO optimization, anchor-text generation in KoalaLinks, Amazon product and local-places curation, and image prompt enhancement. These are picked per task for accuracy and speed, and they don't consume your premium-model allowance.

How credits scale

Higher-quality models cost more. The "word multiplier" in KoalaWriter means a 1,000-word article on Claude Opus 5 or GPT-5.6 Sol burns 3,000 words from your monthly allowance. KoalaChat works similarly with credit multipliers per message.

This keeps cost transparent: you pay for what you use, in proportion to the model's compute cost. There are no hidden tiers, and all models are listed with their credit cost up front.

Free vs paid models

Free accounts can use baseline models: Gemini 3.7 Flash, GPT-5.6 Luna, and Claude 4.5 Haiku in KoalaChat, and GPT-5.6 Luna in KoalaWriter. Paid plans unlock the premium models. Free-tier users see model selectors but premium models are gated until they upgrade.
