Email Gating + Lead Capture for KoalaMagnets

A custom GPT on your website is a great way to engage visitors. A custom GPT that captures emails is a lead-gen machine. KoalaMagnets supports both: embed a magnet anonymously OR require an email before showing the results.

The email gating flow

1. Visitor lands on your site, sees the magnet (e.g., "Find the Perfect Name for Your Dog").
2. Visitor enters their query and clicks generate.
3. Instead of immediately showing results, the magnet shows your email-gate message and an email field.
4. Visitor enters their email.
5. Magnet shows the generated results + your post-submission confirmation message.
6. Email is captured in the magnet_leads database, tagged with the magnet, the user, and a creation timestamp.

Customizations per magnet

• Email gate message: explain why you want the email. ("Get your custom names + a weekly newsletter for dog owners.")
• Email field placeholder: match your tone.
• Submit button label + color: visually consistent with your site.
• Success message: what shows after submission (e.g., "Thanks! Here are your results, check your inbox for our weekly tips.").

Lead management

All captured leads roll up to your KoalaMagnets dashboard:

• View all leads across all your magnets.
• Filter by magnet or date.
• See total count and "unconsumed" count (leads you haven't exported yet).
• Bulk CSV export with email, magnet name, timestamp.
• Consumption tracking: when you export, leads are marked consumed so you can re-export only new leads next time.

Pairing with optional gating

You can offer the magnet anonymously AND offer optional email capture (different from gating). A simple toggle controls whether the email is required to see results or just offered as a follow-up CTA.

Anti-abuse

KoalaMagnets has built-in Turnstile bot protection on lead submission and rate limits (2 submissions per minute per IP) to prevent automated form filling. You get real leads, not bot noise.

Pricing

Email gating is included with KoalaMagnets (Pro+ plans). Captured leads don't bill per-record.
