SEO Content Editor: Grade Any Draft Against the SERP

Paste a draft or start from a blank page, set the target keyword, and the editor scores the text against the entities the top-ranking pages use, shows which competitors use each one, and rewrites to close the gaps.

Every KoalaWriter article opens in the same editor, and it also takes drafts written anywhere else. The grading works the way a dedicated content grader does: the editor analyzes the results page for your keyword, extracts the entities the ranking pages share, and scores your text against them.

Where it lives

Open /editor and choose Create Article From Scratch. Give it a topic or target keyword, a language and a country, then paste your draft or write in place. Any article generated by KoalaWriter opens in the same editor with the analysis already run.

How the score works

The editor runs a live search for the keyword and reads the pages that rank. It pulls the entities each page uses and weights every entity by how many of the ranking pages use it, with extra weight when the top three do. Your draft is checked for each entity, singular and plural, and scored: mentioning a widely used entity at least once earns credit, hitting the frequency the ranking pages use earns full credit, and missing an entity that most of them use costs the most. The weighted total is the SEO Score at the top of the panel.

The entity matrix

Beside the score, the matrix lists every entity with its weight, your count, and which competitors use it, so you can see whether a gap matters (four of the top five use it) or is noise (one page far down the results). Filter to the recommended entities to work from a short list.

The competitor panel

Switch the panel to Competitors to see each ranking page with its H2 and H3 counts and word count. It answers the structural questions a grader usually leaves to you: how long the ranking pages run and how they break the topic up.

One-click SEO optimization

Optimize rewrites the draft to work the missing entities in where they fit, then re-scores it. The previous version is kept, so a rewrite you dislike reverts in one click. For lighter edits, the chat beside the editor takes instructions in plain language and applies them to the text.

Readability

A readability score sits under the SEO Score, so a draft that scores well on entities and badly on sentence length shows both at once. Polish handles the readability fixes.

How it compares to Surfer and Clearscope

Surfer and Clearscope are precise graders sold as their own subscriptions. Koala AI's editor does the same job as part of the platform, so a team that plans from Search Console data, writes with KoalaWriter and publishes to its CMS grades in the same place, with no second seat. If your process is built around one of those graders, the Surfer comparison and the Clearscope comparison set out the differences.
