- Is there a free trial available?
- Yes. Every new account gets 5,000 free words and 25 credits, no credit card required. Just register and start creating. You can upgrade to a paid plan anytime.
- How long do the credits last?
- With an annual subscription you get all credits up front and they don't expire for an entire year! However, credits from monthly subscriptions expire after a month.
- What happens if I already have a monthly subscription and I buy an annual subscription?
- We will rollover all of your leftover credits and your monthly subscription will automatically be cancelled. You will have an entire year to spend any credits you have left.
- Can I buy another annual subscription if I already have one?
- Yes, the credits from your existing plan will remain separate and will retain their original expiration date. Credits for the new plan will not expire for an entire year. You can freely switch plans at anytime without losing any credits.
- Can I share my account?
- You are allowed to share your account within your organization and with people working for you.
- Do you offer refunds?
- Yes, we offer a 15-day refund window. If you aren't satisfied within the first 15 days of a new plan and have used minimal credits (under 15,000 words and 100 credits), just contact us for a prompt refund. Most refund requests are processed within 24 hours.
- Is it easy to cancel my plan?
- Yes. You can cancel your plan at any time by clicking on the 'Cancel Plan' button on the 'Account' page when you are logged in.
- Do I own the output generated by KoalaChat and KoalaWriter?
- Yes. You retain all rights to the input you provide to our services and we assign you all rights to the AI-generated output. You can read more about this in our Terms of Service.
- What payment methods do you accept?
- Currently we accept credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, US bank transfers, Canadian bank transfers, WeChat Pay, Alipay, and Cash App Pay via Stripe. Contact us to pay via PayPal or Wise for annual subscription plans.
- How do I change my plan?
- You can change your plan at any time from this page by buying a new plan. When you buy a new plan it will reset your subscription date and automatically cancel your old subscription. Your leftover credits will rollover. Upgrades are not prorated since you receive the full amount of credits when buying the new plan.
- What are Platform Credits and what can I use them for?
- Platform Credits are shared across KoalaChat, KoalaImages, KoalaLinks, KoalaMagnets, Brand DNA's agent, API Access, and MCP research from your AI assistant. For example, on the Professional plan you can use a total of 1,000 credits across all of these products combined. Article generation uses your separate word allowance.
- Do failed requests use credits?
- Failed lookups and incomplete fixed-price research calls cost no credits. Keyword ideas and variations charge only for successful unique seeds. A successful search with no matches still uses credits. Each page continuation is a separate fetch.
- Does MCP access cost extra?
- No. During the beta the MCP is included with Professional plans and above; there is no separate fee. Connect your assistant and it spends the same platform credits as the rest of Koala AI. Free accounts cannot connect an app.
- How do fractional credits work?
- You pay for what your assistant calls. A raw HTML fetch is 0.1 credits, a rendered page or screenshot 0.25, a live Google search 0.5, keyword and competitor lookups 1, an article edit 1, backlink lookups 2, keyword volume 3 and historical traffic 4. Keyword ideas and variations cost 1 credit per seed keyword. One credit covers ten raw fetches, four rendered pages or two searches. A single question may call several tools.
- What does my assistant get for free?
- Reading your Brand DNA, your knowledge base, your content calendar, and your connected Search Console and Analytics costs nothing. Checking an article's status or reading a finished article is free too. Only research calls that reach outside data, and article edits, spend credits.
- Is there a daily research limit?
- No. Research calls draw on your credit balance until it runs out, and request rate limits keep the service responsive. Free tools are subject to the same rate limits.
- Does this include my AI assistant subscription?
- No. Your AI assistant is billed by its own provider. Koala AI supplies the tools and the data. Generating an article through MCP uses your Koala AI word allowance; editing an article costs 1 platform credit.
- Who can use the MCP right now?
- The MCP is in beta. It needs a Professional plan or higher and the beta opt-in: sign in, open your Beta page, turn on the Beta Program, then connect from the MCP page. Other plans will get access when the beta ends.
- Is my payment information safe?
- Yes. All of your payment information is handled by Stripe, a trusted payment processor. We do not store any of your payment information on our servers. When you checkout or manage your plan, you will be redirected to a secure Stripe-hosted page which means we couldn't access any of your sensitive payment information even if we wanted to.
