How KoalaWriter Writes Articles Built for Google and AI Search

Ranking used to mean one thing: a position on a results page. Now your article also has to be the answer an AI cites, whether that's Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT, or Perplexity. Those systems don't skim ten blue links. They lift the passage that answers the question directly, from the source that earns the most trust.

We rebuilt how KoalaWriter writes with exactly that in mind. Here is what changed, and why each change matters.

Every section leads with the answer

AI search engines quote passages, not pages. So every article now opens with a direct, bolded answer to the query in the first lines, and every section states its key point in the first sentence before adding depth. Headings are phrased as the real questions people search ("Which pan delivers a better sear?" instead of "Searing performance"), and each one is answered immediately underneath.

Readers get the same benefit as the machines: they can stop reading at any point and still leave with the answer.

Evidence over adjectives

"Whisper-quiet" is filler. "A 42 dB rating at full load" is information. When the research contains a number, a price, a spec, or a measurable fact, the article states the claim with the figure and links the source in the same sentence. When a figure genuinely isn't public, the article says so plainly instead of reaching for a vague superlative.

Comparison articles now include a side-by-side spec table wherever named options are weighed against each other, and product roundups open with quick picks so decision-stage readers can act without scrolling.

Citations that build your authority, never your competitors'

This one is easy to get wrong, and most AI writers do. If you're writing "best cookware for induction cooktops" and your article links to another site's roundup of the same keyword, you just handed authority to the exact page you're trying to outrank.

KoalaWriter now vets every research source before the writer ever sees it. Pages competing for your target keyword are stripped of their links, whatever the publisher: rival roundups, competitor vendor blogs, review-site comparisons. Their facts can still inform the article, but your article will never send them a reader or a ranking signal.

The citations that remain follow two rules. Links only go to real pages that appeared in the research, never constructed or guessed URLs. And sources are named in the text only when they're genuine authorities like Wikipedia, PubMed, government agencies, or major publications. An ordinary blog can earn a link, but not a free mention of its name in your prose.

Your first-party facts, woven in

Articles written for a brand draw on its Brand DNA knowledge base for the details no competitor can copy: your actual product specs, your guarantee terms, your service areas, your included extras. In product roundups, your own product leads the list when it honestly fits, with the reasoning stated rather than asserted. Brand mentions link to the specific product page, never a lazy homepage link.

Smarter internal links

KoalaLinks anchors got stricter rules: the sentence around a link has to be about the page it points to, comparison pages get comparison-style anchors, and an entity's name never links to a page about a different entity. Fewer links that surprise the reader, more links that get clicked.

The details that add up

  • FAQ sections are built from the real questions people ask about the topic, answered in two to three sentences each.
  • Time-sensitive titles carry the current year; evergreen ones stay undated.
  • Research and deep research are now on by default for every article, and source citing is included on every plan.
  • Claude Sonnet 5 is the new default model, with Claude Opus 5 available when quality matters more than cost.
