We’re shipping the biggest refresh to KoalaImages since launch: a redesigned page, an opt-in Lossless mode for raw PNG output, and a smarter prompt enhancer when you’re working with reference images. We’ve also added four new AI models to KoalaChat, including GPT-5.5, Claude Opus 4.7, GPT-5.3, and Gemini 3.1 Pro.
All of it is live now for every Koala account.
KoalaImages Redesign
The KoalaImages page has been rebuilt around a persistent settings sidebar on the left and a unified compose card at the top of the main area. Your model, style, size, count, and toggles are always one glance away, and the prompt textarea, Generate button, and reference uploader all live together in a single bordered card that reads as a generation form, not a chat box.

- Top-anchored compose card that wraps the prompt, Generate button, and reference uploader into one unit. Submit scrolls the page back to the top so the new image lands in view.
- Mobile drawer for the sidebar so phones get the full width for composing.
- Image cards for every generation, each with the prompt, model, size, and quick actions (reuse settings, download, delete) grouped into one tidy control pill.
- Long prompts collapse to two lines with a “Show more” toggle so the page stays scannable.
New Lossless Option
For work that needs the raw model output (print, post-processing, anything where fine detail matters), KoalaImages now has a Lossless toggle for GPT Image 2 generations. Flip it on and we store the original PNG straight from the model, with no re-encoding. The file automatically transcodes to a high-quality JPEG after 30 days to keep storage manageable; until then you have the genuine output.
Smarter Reference Image Editing
When you upload a reference image, the goal is almost always to edit it: change a color, swap a subject, restyle the composition. With Enhance Prompt turned on, KoalaImages now writes proper edit instructions in this case, preserving the subject and composition from your reference while applying the changes you ask for.
Four New Chat Models
We’ve added the latest frontier models to KoalaChat:
- GPT-5.5, OpenAI’s newest flagship chat model. Uses 3 chat credits per message.
- Claude Opus 4.7, Anthropic’s highest-quality model for complex reasoning and longform writing. Uses 3 chat credits per message.
- GPT-5.3, a meaningful step up from GPT-5.2 and now the default GPT option for free accounts. Uses 1 chat credit.
- Gemini 3.1 Pro, Google’s latest Pro tier model. Uses 2 chat credits.
