We describe this site without naming it. Traffic figures are estimates of monthly visits from Google, from a third-party keyword and ranking index, not the site's own analytics. Article counts come from KoalaWriter.
In January 2024, one of our longtime customers started a travel blog with KoalaWriter. It had no Google traffic at the start. It published in most months for the next two and a half years, and its estimated traffic grew month by month to about 9,000 visits a month through 2026.
Key numbers
- Estimated Google visits a month: none at the start, about 1,000 after ten months, about 1,700 after a year, about 6,400 by mid-2025 and about 9,000 a month on average through 2026, peaking near 11,000.
- Articles: about 2,700 over two and a half years, written in most months of that time.
- Settings: internal linking on every article, and Deep Research on nearly every article since August 2025.
The site
A travel blog covering destinations around the world, started from scratch in early 2024. The owner runs several sites with KoalaWriter and still publishes with it today.
What it published
The articles follow the questions travelers type into Google before a trip:
- Attraction and landmark guides for places around the world.
- “Where to stay” guides for individual cities and regions.
- Destination comparisons, one city or island against another.
- Practical questions, such as local SIM against eSIM, carry-on rules and whether a city is safe.
- Travel gear roundups built with KoalaWriter's Amazon product articles, which earn affiliate income from the same traffic.
The pace was steady with a few bigger batches, including about 540 articles in April 2026. From August 2025 the owner turned on Deep Research for nearly every new article.
What happened to its traffic
- First months: almost nothing until mid-2024, which is normal for a brand-new site.
- Late 2024: about 1,000 to 1,500 visits a month.
- Mid-2025: a jump to about 6,000 a month, then a steady climb.
- 2026: between about 6,000 and 11,000 a month, with a dip in March and a high in August.
What you can take from it
- Keep publishing. The traffic built over 18 months and more. A new site that stops after a few weeks never sees this part.
- Match how people search. Guides, comparisons, practical answers and gear roundups each catch a different kind of travel search.
- Earn from the same traffic. Product roundups turn some of those visits into affiliate income.
- Turn on research as you grow. The owner added Deep Research once the site had traction, so new articles read like the work of someone who checked.
- Expect dips. Traffic dropped in late 2024 and again in early 2026, then recovered both times.
