Best AI Writers for SEO in 2026: 6 Tools Compared

Connor SmithConnor Smith··5 min read·

We make KoalaWriter, and it is first on this list. Every other tool's prices and limits come from its own pricing page as of October 30, 2026.

An AI writer for SEO has more to do than produce fluent paragraphs. It has to research the topic, read what already ranks for the keyword, get your business details right, link to your other pages, and get the article onto your site. We compared six options on exactly that.

What we compared

  • Research: what the tool reads before it writes, and whether it looks at the current Google results for the keyword.
  • Your business: how it learns your voice, services and credentials.
  • Publishing: which CMSs it sends finished articles to.
  • Cost: what a month costs, and whether you pay by words, articles or seats.

1. KoalaWriter

KoalaWriter writes a full article from a keyword. It analyzes the current Google results, researches across several sources (Deep Research is on Professional and up), and adds internal links to your existing pages, AI images and YouTube embeds. Finished articles go to WordPress, Shopify, Webflow or Ghost in one click, or anywhere else through webhooks and the API.

Brand DNA imports your business from your website or Google Maps, so articles use your real services, credentials and voice without a long prompt. Article types cover blog posts, listicles, Amazon product roundups and single-product reviews with live Amazon data, service pages, local places roundups, YouTube-to-article and rewrites of posts you already have. Bulk mode writes many articles at once, in 100+ languages, with GPT-6 and Claude models.

Pricing: a free account with 5,000 words and no credit card; Starter $25/month (45,000 words); Professional $49/month (100,000 words); Boost $99/month (250,000 words, plus the SEO agent with no message cap, which plans articles from your Search Console data). See all plans.

Keep in mind: plans are metered in words, and the full SEO agent needs Boost.

2. Frase

Frase researches what ranks, drafts and optimizes in your voice, and publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity, Wix or its own hosted FraseCMS. Its agent can publish on its own if you switch that on. Content Guard watches your pages for ranking decay and proposes a fix, and AI Visibility tracks whether ChatGPT and Google's AI mention you.

Pricing: Starter $39/month billed yearly ($49 month to month) for 10 articles a month on one site; Professional $103/month billed yearly ($129 month to month) for 40 articles, 3 seats and 5 sites; Scale $239/month billed yearly ($299 month to month) for 100 articles. Free 7-day trial, no credit card.

Keep in mind: plans count articles, so 10 a month on Starter is the ceiling for one site. Our Frase comparison goes through the differences in detail.

3. SEOWriting.ai

SEOWriting.ai is an article generator priced by article count. It includes real-time SERP research, bulk generation, internal and external linking, brand voices, AI images, a WordPress integration and a Shopify app.

Pricing: Starter $14/month billed yearly ($168 a year) for up to 50 articles with one brand voice; Professional $59/month billed yearly for up to 250 articles with five; Professional Plus 1 $119/month for up to 500. Three free articles, no credit card.

Keep in mind: it is built for volume on a budget, so check a few articles against your own standard before committing a year.

4. Surfer

Surfer is a content editor with a Content Score to optimize against, an AI writing assistant (Surfy), an AI detector and humanizer, plagiarism checks, 1-click optimization and internal linking, keyword research, topical maps, content audits and ChatGPT visibility tracking.

Pricing: listed in euros and billed yearly: Discovery 49 EUR/month, Standard 99 EUR/month, Pro 182 EUR/month, Peace of Mind 299 EUR/month.

Keep in mind: Surfer suits teams who write or edit every draft themselves. Our Koala AI vs Surfer comparison covers when each one fits.

5. Jasper

Jasper is an AI marketing platform for teams: a Canvas editor, marketing agents, brand voices, knowledge assets, audiences, image tools and a browser extension, in 30+ languages.

Pricing: Pro $59 per seat per month billed yearly ($69 month to month) with 2 brand voices; Business is custom priced. 7-day free trial.

Keep in mind: Jasper covers marketing content across channels, and search rankings are one use among many. Our Jasper comparison has more.

6. ChatGPT, Claude and other general assistants

General assistants are good for outlines, rewrites and short drafts. On their own they can't read your Search Console, don't know which of your pages to link to, and can't publish to your CMS, so a long SEO article means researching, checking and formatting by hand. If you already work in Claude or ChatGPT, the Koala AI MCP gives them keyword, search result and Search Console data and lets them hand articles to KoalaWriter.

Which one to pick

  • Publishers and affiliate sites that need finished articles at volume: KoalaWriter, for bulk mode, Amazon roundups with live product data and 1-click publishing.
  • Local and service businesses: KoalaWriter with Brand DNA, so service pages and local guides carry your real services, credentials and service area.
  • Teams that edit every draft by hand: Surfer, for the Content Score.
  • The lowest cost per article: SEOWriting.ai.
  • Marketing teams writing for every channel: Jasper.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI writer is best for SEO?

For finished articles that are researched, linked and published to your site, we'd pick KoalaWriter (we make it). If your team writes every draft itself, Surfer's Content Score is the better fit; if cost per article matters most, SEOWriting.ai.

Can ChatGPT write SEO articles?

It can draft one, but it doesn't read the current search results, your Search Console or your site's pages, and it can't publish. Expect to do the research, internal links and formatting yourself.

Should I pay per word or per article?

Per-article plans (Frase, SEOWriting.ai) are easier to budget if your articles are similar in length. Word-based plans (KoalaWriter) let you trade a few long guides for many short posts within the same allowance.
