This is the biggest update in Koala AI’s history. Today we’re introducing Brand DNA, a powerful new system that gives Koala AI deep context about your business. We’ve also completely rebuilt the article generation engine with KoalaWriter v2, launched Service Pages as a new article type, and more.
These features are available now through the Koala AI Beta Program on Professional plans and above.
Brand DNA
Brand DNA is a new way to infuse your brand identity into everything KoalaWriter creates. Instead of starting every article from scratch, you can now give Koala AI a deep understanding of who you are, what you do, and how you want to grow. That context carries across all of your content.
Business Profiles
At the core of Brand DNA is your business profile. You can create one in three ways:
- Import from Google Maps – Search for your business by name and city. Koala AI automatically extracts your address, phone number, website, reviews, and other details. Ideal for local businesses with a physical location.
- Import from your website – Enter your URL and Koala AI will pull key information directly from your site.
- Manual entry – Start from a structured template tailored to your business type (local business, SaaS, professional services, ecommerce, content site, affiliate, or online service) and fill in the details yourself.
Whichever method you choose, your profile captures your brand voice, target audience, unique selling points, and more. All of this informs the content Koala AI generates for you.
Knowledge Base
When you import your business, Koala AI automatically creates a Knowledge Base with detailed information about your brand. You can then edit and expand it using a rich visual editor or raw markdown, and add additional documents to cover different aspects of your business like services, products, case studies, or anything else you want Koala AI to know about.
The Knowledge Base has a 100,000-character limit with a visual progress indicator, so you can see at a glance how much context you’ve provided.
Growth Agent
The Growth Agent is an AI-powered SEO strategist that lives inside Brand DNA. Think of it as a dedicated consultant for your website. It knows your business, understands your goals, and has access to your real performance data.
You can chat with the Growth Agent in six specialized modes:
- Full Analysis – A comprehensive overview of your site’s SEO performance and opportunities.
- Keyword Focus – Deep dive into keyword research, gaps, and targeting opportunities.
- Backlink Focus – Analyze your backlink profile and find link-building opportunities.
- Competitor Focus – See how you stack up against competitors and identify gaps to exploit.
- AI Search Focus – Optimize your content for AI search engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews.
- Free Chat – Ask open-ended questions about your SEO strategy.
During analysis, you can watch the Growth Agent work in real time as it crawls your sitemap, analyzes keywords, checks backlinks, and more. You can also attach files to your messages, including PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, images, and code files.
Persistent Memory
The Growth Agent maintains a persistent memory for each brand. As you chat, it remembers key details about your business, your goals, and past recommendations. You can also manually edit this memory to ensure the agent always has the right context, even across separate conversations.
Growth Goals
You can set specific growth goals to guide the agent’s recommendations. Choose from presets like “Drive more organic search traffic,” “Build brand presence in AI search,” or “Monitor and outperform competitors,” or add your own custom goals. The Growth Agent can also suggest goals based on its analysis of your site, which you can accept or reject.
Google Search Console & Analytics Integration
Connect your Google Search Console and Google Analytics accounts to give the Growth Agent access to real performance data. Instead of relying on estimates, the agent can pull your actual search queries, click-through rates, traffic patterns, and engagement metrics to make more informed recommendations.
Both integrations include a test connection feature so you can verify everything is working correctly after setup.

Brand DNA is just getting started. Here’s what we’re building next:
- Initiatives – The Growth Agent will be able to turn its recommendations into structured initiatives with clear goals, timelines, and progress tracking. Instead of just telling you what to do, it will help you plan and execute.
- Content Calendar – An automated content calendar that works hand-in-hand with the Growth Agent and your connected integrations. The Content Calendar will automatically create new posts based on identified opportunities, optimize your existing content for better rankings, and enhance schema markup through our integration with KoalaLinks.
- Weekly Growth Digest – Regular performance summaries delivered automatically so you always know how your content is performing.
- Competitor Monitoring – Ongoing tracking of your competitors’ content strategies so you can stay ahead.
KoalaWriter v2
KoalaWriter v2 is a rebuilt article generation engine that produces higher-quality, more coherent articles with better flow and consistency throughout. It’s available now in beta alongside the existing engine.
What’s Improved
- Better coherence – Articles read more naturally from start to finish, with consistent tone, style, and logical flow between sections.
- Smarter content briefs – When you provide article instructions, the AI incorporates them into a strategic content brief during outline generation. The brief captures target audience, perspective, key differentiators, and tone, giving the writer a unified set of guidance instead of separate, potentially conflicting instructions.
- Brand integration – When you select a brand profile, v2 automatically weaves your brand context into the article. You can control how prominently your brand is mentioned (Prominent, Subtle, or None) and optionally include a call-to-action section.
New Workflow
When generating an article with v2, you have two options after setting up your parameters:
- Write Article Now – Go straight to article generation with AI-optimized defaults.
- Review Outline First – Preview and edit the outline, review the AI-generated content brief (shown as “Article Instructions”), reorder or remove sections, and add new ones before writing.
New Models
KoalaWriter v2 introduces access to premium AI models:
- GPT-5.4 Mini – Fast and cost-effective, ideal for high-volume content.
- Claude Sonnet 4.6 – An excellent balance of quality and speed.
- GPT-5.4 – Premium quality for important content.
- Claude Opus 4.6 – The highest quality option available.
Service Pages (New Article Type)
KoalaWriter v2 introduces a brand-new article type: Service Pages. Designed for businesses that need optimized pages for their services or products, Service Pages support brand integration, calls-to-action, real-time data, and deep research. Everything you need to create high-converting service content.
