Brand DNA Knowledge Base: Your Business in a Format AI Can Use

A multi-document, WYSIWYG knowledge base that stores your business (services, credentials, FAQs, expertise) in a format KoalaWriter and the agent can draw from automatically.

The Knowledge Base is where Brand DNA lives. Open it and you'll see your business written out: services, credentials, audience, pricing, FAQs, brand voice notes, anything that makes your business unique. KoalaWriter and the agent read from this knowledge base so the AI doesn't have to guess.

What goes in the knowledge base

There's no single right structure, but most brands have documents like:

  • Services: what you sell, with descriptions, pricing notes, who it's for
  • Credentials: certifications, awards, partnerships, years in business
  • Audience: who your customers are, what they care about, common objections
  • Service area / locations: where you operate (especially important for local businesses)
  • FAQs: questions you hear from real customers, with your real answers
  • Brand voice: tone notes, words you use, words you avoid
  • Pricing / packages: what you charge and what's included
  • Process / methodology: how you actually do the work

How the WYSIWYG editor works

The editor is built on BlockNote, a modern WYSIWYG that handles headings, bullet lists, tables, code blocks, and inline formatting. Paste from Google Docs, Notion, or your existing brand guidelines and the formatting comes through cleanly. Edit inline. Save every keystroke.

Version history (nothing is lost)

Every save creates a snapshot in brand_content_history. If you (or a teammate, or the agent) edits something you wanted to keep, you can roll back. We snapshot before any AI agent makes a change, so you always have the human-edited version to return to.

How KoalaWriter and the agent use the knowledge base

  • KoalaWriter pulls relevant docs automatically when you start an article. Service pages get service docs, blog posts get audience + voice docs, etc.
  • The agent uses the entire knowledge base as grounding for every chat. It knows your services, voice, and constraints from message one.

Getting started

Setting up the knowledge base from scratch takes about 10–20 minutes. The faster path: import from Google Maps or your website (see GMB import and website crawl). Either populates 70–80% of the knowledge base automatically. You edit, you add what's missing, you're done.

Key Benefits

  • Rich WYSIWYG editor: paste in docs, format inline, organize by topic
  • Auto-pulls into KoalaWriter articles and agent strategy
  • Version history: every edit is saved, nothing is lost
  • Multi-document: separate Services, FAQs, Pricing, Brand Voice, etc.
  • Used as memory + grounding by the agent
